Birthday Cards – “why do we send them”?
Following on from our Anniversary Card research we can be sure most people will know that a Birthday is marking that date when a person is born. The day really does denote the beginning of a life and it’s a fact that it is celebrated in almost every culture and society around the world, although it is a point of note and respect that Jehovah’s Witnesses do not celebrate a person’s birth date each year due to their religious beliefs. Birthdays generally, however, are celebrated festive events where family and friends are usually key participants.
A great way to show ones` love and affection to the celebrant is to send a real birthday card with a heartfelt message. A birthday card is frequently associated with a gift which is also given to the recipient in celebration of the birthday. Generally, real birthday cards carry in them, not just simple words or wishes but warm love and appreciation for the person commemorating the birth date.
Birthday cards used to be very simple cards, or even pieces of paper, but these days they come in unlimited styles, colours, shapes, sizes and inscriptions and in different forms, albeit the e-card version is very often thought by recipients to be the result of the sender forgetting the person and using an e-card as a last minute, better than nothing, option. Real birthday cards are truly a great way to celebrate a birthday event with the recipient even if distances bar the people from meeting in person on the day. Real birthday cards are mostly delivered by mail but are sometimes delivered by hand.
In the 21st century birthday cards have come to symbolize the feelings the senders associated with them with and invariably express a very genuine gesture of love, fondness and good wishes.
